The popularity of electric vehicles is on the rise and planning permissions are increasingly stipulating that new homebuilds must consider and plan for an electric vehicle charging point. The WallPod:EV Ready is specifically designed for new homebuilds and is a low-cost electric vehicle (EV/PHEV) charging unit which the BSI have certificated as safe to use in the domestic environment.This unit charges an electric vehicle in Mode 2 format but has the capacity to be upgraded to a full Mode 3 charger. This model also doubles up as an outdoor IP65 rated, domestic 13Amp maintenance socket. The high IP rating means that the product is protected against dust that may damage the equipment as well as water spray from all directions, making it ideal for use in the domestic setting.
